A national sci-tech symposium of the building-materials sector was held on September 14-15 in the form of videoconferencing under the sponsorship of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea.
The symposium held on the theme of “Domestic production of paints and coating materials” was aimed at sharing and exchanging successes and experience gained in developing paints and coating materials by relying on locally-available raw materials and thereby contributing to strengthening the independence of the building-materials industry.
It drew scientists, technicians, lecturers and researchers from 10-odd units including the Paektusan Institute of Architecture, Pyongyang University of Architecture, Wonsan University of Agriculture and Pyongyang Jonghyang Building-Materials Factory. Over 20 papers were presented to it.
