Kim Tok Hun, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made a field survey of the sectors of agriculture and light industry.
Making the rounds of several farms in South Phyongan Province and North and South Hwanghae Provinces including Sukchon and Phyongwon Counties, Sariwon City, and Hwangju, Jaeryong and Yonan Counties, he encouraged the agricultural workers who are devoting themselves to the conclusion of this year's farming.
He touched on manuring and cultivating the crops with responsibility to the last to maximize the grain yield, harvesting and threshing qualitatively in good season and putting efforts into the drying and storage not to waste even a grain.
Saying it is necessary to make foresighted preparations for next year's farming, Kim stressed the need to increase the areas sown with wheat and barley and thoroughly observe the demand of the Juche farming method in sowing, manuring and cultivating crops.
Learning about the production of the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Textile Mill, the Pyongyang Daily Necessities Factory, the Pothonggang Footwear Factory and the Pyongyang Rayon Mill, he referred to localizing and recycling the raw materials to lay a firm foundation for the revitalization of production and decisively increase the production of consumer goods.
The consultative meetings held on the spot underscored the need for the agricultural officials to carry out detailed plan and command for the conclusion of this year's farming and discussed issues for the light industry sector to regard the lowering of cost and the improvement of quality as the fundamentals of the management, actively introduce the advanced technology and supply raw and other materials in time.
