Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, sent a reply message to Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President of the People's Republic of China.

Esteemed General Secretary,
I, on behalf of the Workers' Party of Korea, the government of the DPRK and the entire Korean people and on my own behalf, express heartfelt thanks to you for the warm congratulations and best wishes you sent on the occasion of the 73rd founding anniversary of the DPRK.
The active support and encouragement of yours and the party, government and people of China are a great strength and inspiration to our Party, government and people vigorously advancing to implement the decisions of the Eighth Party Congress.
I think it a great pleasure that the comradely unity and cooperation between the DPRK and China are steadily strengthened in the joint struggle to destroy the vicious challenges and obstructions of the hostile forces and defend and honour socialism.
I believe that the traditional DPRK-China friendship would daily develop and fully demonstrate its invincible vitality thanks to the joint efforts of the two parties and the two countries.
I sincerely hope that the fraternal Chinese people would achieve fresh and greater successes in the historic course for comprehensively building a modern socialist state under your energetic leadership.
I wholeheartedly wish you good health and happiness.
