Lake Yonphung for irrigation lying between Anju and Kaechon Cities of South Phyongan Province is an artificial lake which has become more famous in recent years after the construction of the Yonphung Scientists Holiday Camp for scientists and technicians.
The lake covers an area of 14.87 square kilometres.

The Kaechon City Station for Stocking Lake Yonphung with Fishes and similar ones in different regions are stepping up the work to increase the production of young mandarin fish, catfish and fry for food of mandarin fish.
Undertakings are done in contact with relevant organs to protect the natural environment of Lake Yonphung and provide the fish with full living conditions.
