Pyongyang, October 11 (KCNA) -- People across the country significantly celebrated the 76th founding anniversary of the Workers' Party of Korea.
An endless stream of people visited the Kumsusan Palace of the Sun, the sacred temple of Juche, where President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il, founder and builder of the WPK, lie in state.
Working people, service personnel of the People's Army and youth and students visited the statues of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il on Mansu Hill and the statues of the great leaders and mosaics picturing their smiling images in different parts of the country and offered floral tributes.
There were performances in Pyongyang and local areas.
There was a concert of the National Symphony Orchestra at Moranbong Theatre.
The artistes of the Phibada Opera Troupe gave outdoor performance before the Pyongyang Grand Theatre.
Revolutionary drama "Blood at an International Conference" was given at the National Theatre.
There was jugglery suite "Mysterious Wonder" at the Jugglery Theatre of the National Acrobatic Troupe.
Art squads gave outdoor performances before the Pyongyang Indoor Stadium, Pyongyang Railway Station and at the construction site of 10 000 dwelling houses of Pyongyang City.
Itinerant art squads of factories and enterprises and districts also gave vibrant performances in areas around the Pyongyang Circus Theatre, the Tower of the Juche Idea, etc., adding to the festive mood.
Provincial art troupes celebrated the anniversary with performances.
There were dancing parties of youth and students and members of women's union across the country.
At the Taekwon-Do Hall, there were men's and women's individual pattern and sparring competitions between the Taekwon-do team of the Korean Taekwon-Do Committee and the Pyongyang City Taekwon-do team.
