The "Pomhyanggi"- and "Unhasu"-trademarked cosmetics are popular among the Korean people.
The former belongs to the Sinuiju Cosmetics Factory and the latter to the Pyongyang Cosmetics Factory.

The Sinuiju Cosmetics Factory, the first cosmetics producer of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, has more than 70-year-long history. The Pyongyang Cosmetics Factory has not so long a history as the former, but vies with it in the quality of the products.
The two factories have developed amid constant competition in quality, technology and development of new products.
The respected Kim Jong Un presented higher goals during his field guidance to those factories.
He visited the Pyongyang Cosmetics Factory on February 4, Juche 104(2015).
He said: Of course, the "Unhasu" cosmetics are popular. Not resting content with it, however, their quality should be steadily improved.
And he unfolded a plan to turn the Pyongyang Cosmetics Factory into a model and standard of the cosmetics production of the country.
When he called at the remodelled factory afterwards, he said with satisfaction that he is really pleased to think of the women and other people who would be happy with good-quality cosmetics. He stressed the need to produce more cosmetics of different kinds which can compete with the world-famous cosmetics.
Kim Jong Un visited the Sinuiju Cosmetics Factory on June 29, Juche 107(2018).
He warmly said: I wanted to visit the Sinuiju Cosmetics Factory which is renowned for the "Pomhyanggi" cosmetics. But I've come here only today.
And looking round different places of the factory for a long time, he said with satisfaction that the unit associated with the leadership exploits of the great leaders Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il is as wonderful as hearsay.
That day, he stressed the need to keep making a leap forward toward a higher goal and said it is necessary to better the quality of the products and increase their varieties while making a comparative analysis of Korean cosmetics including the "Unhasu" cosmetics and the world-famous cosmetics.
Today the Pyongyang Cosmetics Factory and the Sinuiju Cosmetics Factory are competitively developing and producing various cosmetics with the world competitive edge.
It was not a mere competition for revitalization of production, but the one for providing the people with better cosmetics.
It is the intention of Kim Jong Un that the products to be used by the people should be the best in their quality.
