Universities in all parts of the country are making positive efforts to improve education.
Kim Il Sung University, the University of Sciences, Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry and Pyongyang University of Publishing and Printing Industry set up new courses of different fields including bioengineering and artificial intelligence this year and are implementing relevant curricula.
Pyongyang University of Architecture, Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering and other universities have additionally formed postgraduate classes to increase the number of their students.
Preparations are now under way to build some courses of different universities into the scientific centres of relevant fields and narrow the differences in education levels in Pyongyang and the provinces.
Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology and the University of Sciences have set the standards for research-type university and A-class course and turned departments into institutes and laboratories where education, scientific research and production are integrated.
