In the Democratic People's Republic of Korea the land administration is brisk as an undertaking involving the whole party, the entire state and all the people.

The respected Kim Jong Un aroused all the people, regarding the land administration as a patriotic work for the everlasting prosperity of the country and as an important work for safeguarding the life and health of the people and making the nature of the country beautiful.

On April 27, Juche 101(2012), he met officials and stressing the importance of the land administration, illuminated the orientation and ways to bring about a change in the land management. He also emphasized that all the institutions, enterprises and cooperative farms and the entire officials and people should be mobilized to the land management.

In 2015, in particular, he conceived a plan to change all the mountains of the country into treasure and golden mountains within coming 10 years, and called upon all the people to turn out in the forest restoration campaign.

He took measures to build a tree nursery put on a scientific, industrial and intensive basis and modern ones in all provinces with it as a model.

He also made sure that mass movements were actively conducted such as the movement to create Forest of Socialist Patriotism and the movement to win the title of Model County in Afforestation.

On the road of his field guidance, Kim Jong Un planted trees he prepared on the occasion of the Arbor Day, appreciated those units which were turned into forest and garden and gave instructions on planting more trees for luxuriant verdure.

Amid the nationwide and all-people campaign for expanding the forest resources of the country, a new forest of more than one million hectares was created for five years between 2016 and 2020.

Kim Jong Un paid deep attention to all sectors of the territory including land, rivers and roads and saw that they were renovated.

In 2012 alone, huge projects were done such as the Hapjang River improvement project, and the Pothong River dredging and bank revetment. And those areas damaged by natural disasters in recent years were face-lifted as those withstanding flood and typhoon.

The Third Enlarged Meeting of the Political Bureau of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea held in early September further emphasized the importance of the land management. It was its core idea that all cities and counties should powerfully promote the land management with their own efforts to make their regions safe, unaffected by any natural disasters.

Kim Jong Un said the leading officials of the provinces, cities and counties should pay primary attention to the land administration, bearing in mind that they cannot expect success in any work apart from it.

Now all the cities and counties are actively promoting the bold plans to finish in the main the river improvement, anti-landsliding, embankment repairing and sea dike projects and manage them in a regular way at least during the 2021-2025 five-year plan period.

A new history of land administration is ushered in on this land under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Un.
