Universities in the DPRK are intensifying the work to train greater number of sci-tech talents to shoulder the economic development of the country.
Kim Il Sung University, the University of Sciences, the Pyongyang Han Tok Su University of Light Industry and the Pyongyang University of Publications and Printing have opened new subjects of different fields including bio-engineering and artificial intelligence this year and execute curricula concerned, while making efforts to raise the practical, comprehensive and modern level of educational content.
The work is done at universities to make some subjects center of study in the fields concerned and narrow down the distinctions of education between central and local areas.
Kim Il Sung University, the Kim Chaek University of Technology and the University of Sciences have mapped out the standard of research-oriented university of Korean-style and the first-class subjects and accelerate the work to turn the departments into institutes and laboratories based on integration of education, scientific research and production and train the students into talents well versed in theory and practice.
The universities are conducting fresh work for the educational development under the goal of training more development-oriented talents, talents of practician-type, by integrating the education, scientific research and production.
