Online education is developing in the DPRK.
Thousands of industrial establishments across the country have been enrolled in the online education system of tens of universities including Kim Il Sung University, Kim Chaek University of Technology, the Pyongyang University of Architecture, the Phyongsong University of Coal Mining Industry and the Sariwon Kye Ung Sang University of Agriculture over the past 10 years.
The online education of the country, which had only tens of disciplines, has now expanded into an educational system with hundreds of ones.
Kim Il Sung University, which plays the role of the online education base in the field of social sciences across the country, is drawing up the teaching program on a higher level and putting its contents and methods on a practical, comprehensive and modern basis.
Kim Chaek University of Technology has developed a tele-intelligence teaching management system of Korean style and thus made a contribution to putting the online education on an IT basis. Kim Chaek University of Technology, the Pyongyang University of Mechanical Engineering, the Pyongyang University of Medical Sciences and the Wonsan University of Agriculture are normalizing the operation of the online academic unification system in academic contact with universities concerned.
Many talented personnel have been produced among those who were given online education of Korean style which closely combined education with production.
All people can be given online education from a university they hope to enter, irrespective of age, length of their service and occupation. They include not only those who graduated from senior middle schools but also university students or those on the job after receiving higher education.
The number of units and students involved in the online education system is on the steady increase, which plays a big role in making all people of the country scientific and technological personnel and training the working people as those of intellectual type.
