Land is the major resources of a country, the cradle of life and the main field of activities. Therefore, the protection and management of land and environment are regarded as an important issue that guarantees the future.
The protection of land and environment constitutes that of land and ecosystem as well as the economy in our country. Land management such as forest restoration, technical improvement of road and river improvement is dynamically pushed ahead in all four seasons on a nationwide scale as a mid- and long-term target.
A campaign has been launched in Mongolia to plant a billion trees by 2030, led by the Mongolian parliament and government.
Mongolia suffers great material and human loss due to heavy rain, forest fire and sandstorm every year. In August this year alone, high temperature caused 25 forest fires, which devastated 120 000 hectares of forest and grassland.
The Mongolian President, in his speech delivered at the 76th Session of UN General Assembly and the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of Parties (COP26), said that the protection of environment and management of the nature have become a vital need for ensuring the future of humankind. He also called for taking substantial measures to prevent climate change caused by irresponsible human activities.
Mongolia has taken positive measures to effectively manage the land, prevent desertification and protect global environment and its efforts will come to excellent fruition.
