Scientists of the Central Botanical Garden Institute brought out Vol. 1 of the book "Reference to Herbaceous Plants of Korea".
The book is of great significance in scientifically classifying and systematizing the plant resources of the country, correctly clarifying the habitat and distribution of each species and using them rationally.
The scientists travelled different regions of the country including the areas of Mt. Taesong and Mt. Ryongak in Pyongyang, Yangdok of South Phyongan Province and Hyesan and Samjiyon Cities of Ryanggang Province to collect specimens of herbaceous plants and clarify their distribution areas and specific characteristics.
The book offers in an easy way concrete data on 780 of over 2,500 species of herbaceous plants in Korea.
It will give botanists and working people profound knowledge of plants and contribute to protecting and multiplying plant resources of the country.
