The press release said.
The Organizing Committee of the International Festival in Praise of the Great Persons of Mt. Paektu decided to set the period between February greeting the Day of the Shining Star, the birthday of leader Kim Jong Il, and April greeting the Day of the Sun, the birthday of President Kim Il Sung, as the period of international celebrations, organize colorful functions on a worldwide scale and actively promote and coordinate the activities for celebrating the 110th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung and the 80th birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il.
It will closely cooperate with organizations of different countries during the period to conduct all the activities along with the celebrations of the 10th anniversary of His Excellency Kim Jong Un's assumption of the supreme posts of the Party and the state of the DPRK.
It will sponsor colorful and peculiar international events through internet and lift the voice of admiration and praise of the progressive mankind for the great leaders of the Korean people in close contact with organizations for friendship and solidarity with the Korean people in different countries.
During the period of celebrations, the internet international seminar "Kim Jong Il Representing Juche Korea" and the internet photo exhibition "Mt. Paektu" will be grandly held in February on the occasion of the 80th birth anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il and the internet festive stage "Kim Il Sung, the Eternal Sun of Mankind" in April on the occasion of the 110th birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung. More and more people are encouraged to participate in the international prize literary works contest on those occasions.
The Organizing Committee will lead the festive mood elated during the period of celebrations to continue and actively conduct the work to praise the great persons and introduce the reality of the DPRK objectively and the activities to support the Korean people in their just cause for peace and security of the Korean peninsula, the region and the rest of the world in different countries and regions.
At the end of the period of international celebrations, an enlarged meeting of the Organizing Committee will be convened with the participation of the delegates of the organizations for friendship and solidarity with the Korean people and the international democratic organizations in different countries and personages of all stripes to discuss and confirm the future action plan, the press release added.
