In the Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un said that capital construction should be prioritized and a new revolution in construction for fundamentally changing the living environments of the people should be made so as to continue to usher in the heyday of the capital city construction including the building of 10 000 flats planned for 2022 and open an era when the local areas will change.
To build all farm villages in the country into those preserving the characteristics of socialism and features peculiar to relevant regions is a crucial strategic plan which the WPK gives top priority to and which it is determined to realize in order to provide rural residents with excellent living environment and to achieve the overall development of the country.
The WPK and the DPRK government completed the third-stage renovation project of the City of Samjiyon, with the result that they could have an ideal model and practical experience for confidently pushing ahead with the long-term grand construction to change local areas across the country.
Guarantees for the successful implementation of the plan include the powerful assistance of the state, the operation of the powerful national guidance system and the enhancement of the role of cities and counties, masters of local construction.
