The Korean Children's Union, a mass political organization of schoolchildren who are the future and hope of the DPRK and its people, is proudly marking its 80th founding anniversary in its history of glorious succession and growth.

For the past 80 years since it was founded as the Juche-oriented children's revolutionary organization when a new Korea was being built, the KCU has steadily developed into the ranks of young revolutionaries and patriots who firmly carry forward the baton of the revolution and the tradition of patriotism, adding lustre to the sacred history and traditions created in the battlefields of Mt Paektu.

All the people across the country are convinced of the bright future of their state and cause as they look at the bright and lively appearance of the rising generation who are growing up to be stalwart pillars of the DPRK in the future, bringing their hope and talents into full bloom in the embrace of the motherly Workers' Party of Korea and the benevolent socialist motherland. And they are extending warm congratulations to the KCU members across the country on the significant June holiday.

A conference in commemoration of the 80th founding anniversary of the KCU was held with splendour at Kim Il Sung Stadium in the capital city of Pyongyang on June 6 amid special concern and expectations of the Party, government and people.

Marshal Kim Jong Un, the benevolent father of all the schoolchildren across the country, attended the conference.

When he appeared on the platform, the schoolchildren broke into cheers as an expression of their highest honour and pride of significantly commemorating the founding anniversary of the KCU in the presence of the fatherly Marshal, whom they yearned for even in their dreams, and fireworks were set off, rocking the stadium.

All the participants extended thanks to the fatherly Marshal who has worked heart and soul to make the schoolchildren enjoy the greatest happiness in the most dignified country, powerful and prosperous, regarding the work for the younger generation as the most important affair directly linked with the future of the revolution and the destiny of the state.

Delegates of the KCU organizations presented bouquets of fragrant flowers to Marshal Kim Jong Un and tied a red neckerchief of the KCU around his neck.

The fatherly Marshal extended warm congratulations to the members of the KCU on significantly commemorating its 80th founding anniversary amid the blessing of the whole country.

Present there were Kim Jae Ryong, Ri Il Hwan, Ju Chang Il and Kim Sung Du, secretaries of the WPK Central Committee, Kim Su Gil, chief secretary of the Pyongyang Municipal Committee of the WPK, delegates of the KCU organizations including the members of relay teams carrying letters of loyalty, members of the delegation of Korean schoolchildren in Japan, students of revolutionary schools and members of the KCU, sub-branch instructors and officials of the youth league in Pyongyang.

There was a ceremony of hoisting the national flag of the DPRK.

The exemplary KCU members hoisted the glorious national flag amid the solemn playing of the DPRK’s national anthem.

The sacred national flag, being hoisted in solemn reverence, made the hearts of the participants burn with the desire to exalt more highly the dignity and honour of their most beautiful and greatest country in the world generation after generation.

The delegates of the KCU organizations courteously presented the fatherly Marshal with letters of loyalty reflecting the boundless wishes of the KCU members across the country and their pledge of succession.

Ju Chang Il, secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, made a report at the conference.

The reporter said that the KCU members are celebrating the auspicious founding anniversary of their organization with the greatest joy and happiness and it is the honour that they can receive only in the embrace of the motherly WPK which brings earlier the ideal prosperous society with love and sincerity for the rising generation. He referred to the proud 80-year history of the KCU which has recorded all the years of its founding and development in its history with patriotism and loyalty.

He said that the KCU members are growing up to be young revolutionaries and patriots dynamically advancing along the road of patriotism as they are holding in high esteem the fatherly Marshal who pursues the socialist policy for schoolchildren as the consistent policy of the Party and the eternal state policy of the DPRK and takes warm care of them so that they can learn with nothing more to desire, grow up excellently and bring their hope and talents into full bloom.

He extended the warmest thanks to the fatherly Marshal for bringing up the KCU members to be true sons and daughters of the socialist country and showing all loving care and benevolence to them, reflecting the unanimous mind of all the schoolchildren, educators and parents across the country.

He said that the new era of national prosperity, in which everything on this land undergoes change beyond recognition, leads the beautiful dreams and hopes of the KCU members towards a brighter future, calling on them to more firmly prepare themselves as reserves for socialist construction.

The respected fatherly Marshal Kim Jong Un made a significant congratulatory speech on the 80th founding anniversary of the Korean Children's Union.

“This is June 6, your holiday.

“On this holiday, 80th founding anniversary of your organization, the whole country is sending greetings of congratulation to all of you, Children’s Union members, who are precious sons and daughters of our people and masters of the future of this Korea.

“As I see your neat and vigorous appearance, I really feel reassured.

“Children’s Union members,

“Overcoming the harsh trials as it sees you and creating more with greater exertion as it wishes that the rising generation will lead a happier life with nothing to envy—this is the course of, and secret to, this country achieving prosperity.

“Beloved Children’s Union members,

“You should not forget that the richer knowledge you acquire, the more healthily and stoutly you grow up and the greater feeling of helping and leading one another forward you cherish in your mind, the stronger your country will become and the happier the laughter will be in the streets, villages, workplaces and houses across the country.

“You should steadily shoulder the future of this country.

“My wish is that you will all be filial to your parents, study hard and be exemplary in the organizational life in good health.

“I really feel happier today than any other days.

“It is because I am sure that, as it has you, our country will become more youthful and beautiful.

When the Marshal finished his speech, the members of the KCU, who received great love and trust from the benevolent father, broke into enthusiastic cheers of “Hurrah!”

All the participants made a pledge of loyalty to the fatherly Marshal.

The members of the KCU made a solemn oath to become reliable pillars of the country and true sons and daughters boundlessly loyal to the country by learning and learning for the DPRK, always bearing deep in mind the gratitude to the motherly Party, which takes warm care of them as the new generation of the DPRK.

Then followed a march of resolution of the new generation.

With a column of children carrying the national flag of the DPRK in the van, the KCU members marched vigorously, flying the KCU flag ahead of their columns, as a token of their pledge of loyalty and repayment.

The columns of revolutionary schools and the columns of the provincial KCU members dynamically marched with the enthusiasm to add brilliance to the glorious tradition of the Anti-Japanese Children's Corps generation after generation and become the masters of a prosperous power, who are imbued with ardent patriotism and are knowledgeable, morally sound and physically strong.

The conference significantly concluded amid the resounding of the song “Marshal Kim Jong Un Is Our Father” sung by the KCU members in chorus out of their boundless gratitude to the fatherly Marshal who took a benevolent measure to celebrate June 6 as a lovely national holiday every year and brings the greatest happiness to them.

The fatherly Marshal warmly waved to the new generation, the reliable successors to the revolution who would firmly carry forward the baton of the Juche cause, and wished the KCU members a bright future.
