Pyongyang, January 18 (KCNA) -- Practical measures have been taken in the coal industrial sector of the DPRK through a deep discussion on revitalizing production.
The Ministry of Coal Industry saw to it that coal prospecting teams and mines reinforced their prospecting and drilling equipment, introduced modern prospecting means and methods and directed efforts into prospecting areas rich in deposits.
Discussed were the ways for ensuring the planned development of coal production at coal mines by securing much more coal through main and preparatory tunneling, applying efficient hewing methods and increasing the usage of machines in mining work.
Now underway is a work to further reinforce the material and technical foundation of coal mines and provide enough manpower, machinery, materials and items for labor protection, etc.
Technical development targets were set to increase the scientific level of interpreting survey data and designing mining processes in collaboration with scientific and educational institutions.
Reasonable and creative plans are being prepared as a result of research to develop efficient mining equipment and raise the mechanization level in coal faces.
Amid the growing enthusiasm of coal miners for implementing the Party decisions, the ministry over-fulfilled its coal-production plan for the first 15 days of this year.
