Long ago, the Korean people defined five blessings with the desire to live well in good health without any worry. One of them was to have healthy teeth and it was regarded as an inborn fortune.
But now its meaning has changed.
Medical service facilities built across the country help the people to live long in good health.
The Ryugyong Dental Hospital in the Munsu area of the capital Pyongyang was inaugurated in October Juche 102(2013).
The respected Kim Jong Un chose the site for the hospital, visited its construction site several times and named it.
Those who received treatment at the hospital say:
"All of my family members had bad teeth. So I thought it was helpless. But my teeth got healthier after receiving treatment at the Ryugyong Dental Hospital."
"Getting old, everyone has trouble with his or her teeth, I think.
I had a set of false teeth put in at the Ryugyong Dental Hospital. It is as comfortable as the original one."
The hospital has a shop which sells hygienic goods for making the teeth healthy.
Many of those goods in the shop were produced at the Pyongyang Dental Hygiene Products Factory.
Workteam Head Pak Ryon Hui at the Pyongyang Dental Hygiene Products Factory says:
"People pay a lot of attention to taking care of their teeth. It shows the importance of teeth. There are varieties of dental hygiene products.
We produce a lot of dental hygiene products including functional toothpaste good for teeth, different kinds of gargles and toothbrushes, tongue scrapers and toothpicks. We also keep developing new products to increase the variety of hygiene products and improve their quality."
Kim Jong Un also paid deep concern to the Pyongyang Dental Hygiene Products Factory.
When he visited the completed factory, he said with great pleasure: It was said from olden times that having good teeth is one of the five blessings. My desire to provide the people with good-quality dental hygiene products has come true. I am really pleased to have done another worthwhile work for the people's long life in good health.
Thanks to his painstaking efforts, the Korean people are enjoying a long life in good health with healthy teeth.
