Kim Tok Hun, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and Vice-President of the State Affairs Commission and Premier of the Cabinet of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made a field survey of school things production units in Pyongyang City.
At the Sonamu, Ryongbong and Pyongyang School Things Factories and the Pyongyang Mechanical Pencil Factory he emphasized that the officials and employees should discharge their responsibility and duty in providing the children and students with good-quality school things.
Learning about the production of school things in detail, he touched on taking care of the production processes according to technical regulations, maximizing the operating rate of the equipment, diversifying the designs of school things in accordance with the children's mind and steadily improving the quality of the products.
The consultative meetings held on the spot discussed issues on letting the officials display the revolutionary working spirit and attitude in the struggle to implement the decisions of the Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee, on supplying raw and other materials in time and increasing the varieties of school things and on strengthening the ranks of technicians and skilled workers and doing the work of expanding the production capacity in a farsighted way.
