The respected Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made a field survey of the designated site in the Ryonpho area of Hamju County of South Hamgyong Province where a large-scale vegetable greenhouse farm will be built.

He was accompanied by Jo Yong Won, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and Secretary for Organizational Affairs of the Party Central Committee, and Pak Jong Chon, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and Secretary of the Party Central Committee.

The preparations for building a large-scale vegetable greenhouse farm have long been promoted in the area of Ryonpho-ri, Hamju County of South Hamgyong Province according to the far-reaching plan of the Party which regards it as the supreme principle of its activities to improve the well-being of the people.

Inspecting the spot in April 2019 Kim Jong Un conceived a plan to build a modern greenhouse farm in the Ryonpho area, which is larger than the one built in the Jungphyong area of Kyongsong County of North Hamgyong Province, and thus make it contribute to improving the diet of people in South Hamgyong Province. And he has guided its design, giving instructions on the construction of a large-scale vegetable greenhouse farm in the Ryonpho area on several occasions.

The Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee presented the construction of the Ryonpho Vegetable Greenhouse Farm as the top-priority of the tasks of the major state construction policy for 2022 and decided and assigned to complete it until the founding anniversary of the Party this year.

Kim Jong Un first listened to the general explanation about the master plan for construction of the Ryonpho Vegetable Greenhouse Farm on the spot.

He said: The greenhouse farm to be built in the Ryonpho area this time is the object which is more gigantic in its scale and amount of project than the one built in the Jungphyong area of Kyongsong County of North Hamgyong Province a few years before. If the 100-hectare greenhouse and the area of dwelling houses of the farm are built in the Ryonpho area, the area will be completely changed and give a lot of help to the diet of the people in South Hamgyong Province including Hamhung City.

I have decided to entrust the construction of another large-scale greenhouse farm to units of the People's Army which have already accumulated a lot of experiences in the construction of greenhouse farms again. The service personnel of the units concerned should launch an all-out drive of loyalty to implement the long-cherished work of the Party as early as possible, true to their noble mission as befitting the thorough executors of the plans and policies of the Party and the creators of the people's happiness.

It is necessary to refer to all the merits and demerits of the Jungphyong Vegetable Greenhouse Farm which had been built and reflect them in the design of the greenhouse farm to be built this time for further development in the aspects of science and technology and management, he added.

Kim Jong Un underscored the need to modernize over 850 greenhouses on a higher level, which are equivalent to the area of 100 hectares.

He also stressed the need to give precedence to creating a windbreak around the greenhouse farm and form its housing estate and diversify the dwellings in a peculiar way according to the geographical characteristics of the seaside.

He gave specific instructions on the project such as the issue on organizing powerful headquarters for promoting the construction of the greenhouse farm and setting up sectional branches, the issue on completing the design on the highest level, giving precedence to supplying the building materials and manufacturing the greenhouse equipment and strengthening the construction guidance and supervision and the issue on the creation of windbreak and afforestation with responsibility.

He also gave precious instructions on building the greenhouse farm into a perfect farm making a substantial contribution to solving the issue of the people's diet as soon as possible and a model and standard of the Party's policy of greenhouse farm construction by selecting technicians and employees for education to run it from the next year and supplying vegetable seeds and securing farm machines and farming materials at the same time.
