Pyongyang, February 26 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un , general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), on February 21 received a reply message from Xi Jinping, general secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and president of the People's Republic of China (PRC).
In the message, Xi Jinping expressed his gratitude to General Secretary Kim Jong Un for having sent a congratulatory message over the Beijing Winter Olympics Games and a verbal message of congratulation soon after the successful closing of the games.
The message said this showed the friendly feelings of the General Secretary and the Korean party, government and people towards Xi Jinping and the Chinese party, government and people as well as their concern and support for the games.
Under the joint support and in the eyes of the international community, the games proved to be a streamlined, safe and splendid Olympics in the world, instilled mental strength into humankind in overcoming ordeals by joint efforts and actively contributed to propagating the Olympic spirit and building a community with a shared future for humankind, it said.
The Chinese side is ready to work, together with the Korean side, to steadily develop the China-DPRK relations of friendship and cooperation, provide the two countries and the two peoples with happiness and make a positive contribution to regional peace, stability, development and prosperity by creditably implementing the important shared understanding reached by both sides under a new situation, the message noted.
The message wished the General Secretary good health and smoothness in his work, hoping that he would continuously make new successes in leading the Korean-style socialist cause. -0-
