The Ryonpho area is in Ryonpho-ri, Hamju County of South Hamgyong Province in the northern part of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. There was a major military base in the area. Now a large-scale greenhouse farm is under construction there.
The preparations for building the Ryonpho Greenhouse Farm have long been promoted in a planned way under the meticulous guidance of the respected Kim Jong Un.
Looking round the area three years ago, Kim Jong Un matured his plan to build a modern greenhouse farm larger than the Jungphyong Vegetable Greenhouse Farm under construction in North Hamgyong Province at that time.
In late January this year, he came out to the area to finally confirm the lot for building the farm and indicate the orientation of its construction.
Speaking at the ground-breaking ceremony held on February 18, he said the construction of the Ryonpho Greenhouse Farm is an important creative project for building a modern farm that would make a great contribution to improving the people's living standards, that is, for creating another new standard in implementing the policy of the Workers' Party of Korea on building greenhouse farms.
The construction of theRyonpho Greenhouse Farm is a very important undertakingwhich will promote large-scale construction of greenhouse farms, which began inNorth Hamgyong Province,full steam ahead and at a new stage, he added.
It is his plan to build the Ryonpho Greenhouse Farm into a large-scale vegetable producer and, at the same time, into a textbook farm for disseminating advanced agricultural technology, a new base for the creation of the rural civilization of Korean style and a cultured socialist farm, and powerfully accelerate the overall rural development of the country with the farm as the standard.
The construction of the Ryonpho Greenhouse Farm was identified as a most important project for this year. It will be finished by October 10, the founding anniversary of the WPK.
When the modern greenhouse farm is built in the Ryonpho area, it will contribute to further diversifying and enriching the diet of the people in South Hamgyong Province.
