The Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea, and the State Affairs Commission and the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea made public an obituary of the death of Hyon Chol Hae on the 19th.
The obituary said Marshal of the Korean People's Army Hyon Chol Hae, General Adviser to the Ministry of National Defence of the DPRK, regrettably died of multiple organic malfuction at 9 o'clock on May 19, Juche 111(2022) at the age of 87, and continued:
Hyon Chol Hae was a soldier loyal to the great leader Kim Il Sung and a revolutionary comrade-in-arms faithful to the great leader Kim Jong Il and the respected Kim Jong Un. He was a prominent political and military activist of our Party, state and revolutionary armed forces who was boundlessly loyal to the Party and the leader with a single heart and devotedly served the country and people throughout his life and devoted his noble life to the sacred struggle for defending the sovereignty of the nation and the supreme interests of the country and winning a victory of the Juche cause.
He enjoyed the respect and love of the service personnel of the People's Army, Party members and other people for his absolute loyalty to the leader, transparent revolutionary principle, spirit of devoted service for the country and people and firm character. Although he passed away, his exploits for the Party and revolution, the country and people will shine forever along with the victorious advance of the Juche cause, the obituary added.
