Pyongyang, May 27 (KCNA) -- Now that the maximum emergency anti-epidemic posture is constantly maintained across the DPRK, gaining momentum is scrupulous guidance over the operation for promptly coping with the ever-changing anti-epidemic situation.

The central emergency anti-epidemic sector has completed and put into practice the operation plan that reflects in detail the issue of flexibly adjusting the state anti-epidemic policy and scientifically setting the anti-epidemic degree in each region according to the pandemic situation in liaison with experts.

In particular, it has organized a public campaign for checking the spread of the malignant pandemic and completely eliminating its source at the earliest date, while ensuring perfection in land, air and sea blockades to check the inroads of new virus variants.

It further tightens the lockdown of the capital city and takes stronger measures for the closure of all regions and units.

It also organized epidemiological survey groups at the emergency anti-epidemic organs at all levels, which comprise the members of rapid mobile epidemic prevention teams and rapid diagnosis and treatment teams, teachers, researchers and post graduates of medical colleges, and clinical experts of provincial curative and preventive organs.

Emergency anti-epidemic sectors at all levels give precedence to the test of specimens collected in rivers and lakes, while intensifying the disinfection.

They make sure that the disinfection facilities at major regions and places are repaired, readjusted, maintained and managed properly, while disinfecting hundreds of thousands of cubic meters of sewage and thousands of tons of garbage every day and examining and analyzing samples.

Anti-epidemic posts were set up in more than 1 840 places to intensify disinfection of passers-by and vehicles and wild animals are under close surveillance at over 1 830 places.

The guide for treating COVID-19 is being updated steadily and research and discussion is being intensified to adopt relevant treatment measures.

Officials of the Party and government organs have organized and carried out the work for swiftly supplying medicines on the spot. As a result, tens of millions of medicines of over 90 kinds are supplied to different parts of the country on May 24 alone.

Progress is made in the medical check-up, quarantine and treatment, thanks to the devoted efforts made by a million and hundreds of thousands of health workers, teachers and students of the medical workers training institutions and sanitary workers in cooperation with inhabitants.

Special attention is paid to the children, the aged and the patients with chronic diseases and the work of informing the people of hygiene information gets further intensified.

State economic guidance organs and people's committees at all levels have taken measures to stabilize the people's living and secure enough anti-epidemic materials.

The Cabinet has organized non-permanent groups for commanding the supply of medicines in the capital city, provinces, cities and counties with officials in the relevant fields to resolve the pending issues.

It also directs efforts into the revitalization of production at the units producing anti-epidemic materials, medicine factories and Koryo medicine pharmaceutical factories across the country.

It makes sure that relevant units fully supply raw and other materials for producing anti-epidemic and medical appliances and Koryo medicines effective for treating aftereffects are massively produced and supplied.

People's committees in provinces, cities and counties do their best to minimize the inconvenience and sufferings of the people and stabilize their lives by supplying clean drinking water to the households and undertaking mobile services.

Hundreds of tons of vegetables and fuels have been carried and sold to hundreds of thousands of households in Pyongyang City.

The Pyongyang Children's Foodstuff Factory carried out its May plan for production of baby milk powder and rice powder ahead of schedule.

The commercial sector and provincial people's committees give utmost priority to the supply of baby milk powder and rice powder to the children across the country. -0-
