Society replete with virtues and affection in emergency

In the ongoing fierce anti-epidemic campaign in the DPRK, people are performing virtuous, admirable deeds as they care for patients, aiding inconvenient persons and helping those in difficulties.

Some days ago, all the roads were crowded with travellers as the national emergency epidemic prevention system was switched into the top emergency anti-epidemic mechanism.

Passengers hurriedly took seats as buses of the North Hamgyong Provincial Long-distance Passenger Vehicle Company arrived at bus stops after leaving Chongjin.

The buses seemed to get off, but drivers stopped their engines and conductors got onto the buses to distribute lunch boxes to passengers.

They thanked the conductors for the unexpected food boxes. Then the conductors said they were sent by officials of Kilju County, who prepared them with sincerity according to the instruction on providing convenience to travellers in keeping with the switchover to the top emergency anti-epidemic system.

At workplaces, officials busy themselves with providing living conditions for their employees and in villages, neighbours share food, medicines and other necessities with one another.

Most recently, residents of a dong in Sosong District, Pyongyang, left for a pharmacy where combatants of the military medicinal sector were discharging the mission of medicine supply and transport in the city, with relief materials as they were deeply moved by their devoted service. But the medics refused to receive the aid, saying they should not cause any slight inconvenience to residents. So they had no other choice than to leave the materials at the entrance of the pharmacy. The relief materials, however, were sent by the service personnel to a dong office in the hope that they would be given to families in difficulties. Thus the relief was sent back to the people.

Such instance was not confined to the dong.

Many people help and lead one another forward to overcome hardship together on the strength of virtues and affection, finding happiness in devoting themselves to others.

A doctor named Jo Jong Sun at the Changdo county town polyclinic returned to her workplace after making house calls all day long. As she found that her fellow household doctor was laid up in bed, she left for the residents in the colleague’s charge for disease screening and medical check-up.

After she finished the medical examination of dozens of families, the following day was dawning.

An old man called Jo Pong Sam in Jongju City who had retired from a hospital is providing medical service at his former workplace with a resolve to make a contribution to the country even a bit since it is undergoing hardship.
