Public health workers in Pyongyang City are working with the utmost vigilance and redoubled efforts to overcome the present situation true to the intention of the Workers' Party of Korea to promptly curb the spread of the pandemic and take the initiative in the anti-epidemic campaign.

State measures are taken to promptly contain the spread of the pandemic. Officials of the Ministry of Public Health went out to the regions concerned and are taking positive measures to overcome the anti-epidemic crisis in close contact with the emergency anti-epidemic organs.

Officials of the curative and preventive organizations at all levels have a deep understanding of the importance of raising the entire people's consciousness of scientific anti-epidemic campaign in overcoming the present health crisis at an early date, and carry on the hygienic propaganda for the prevention of the pandemic in a flexible way among the broad masses of the people.

The Pyongyang Municipal Koryo Medicine Hospital promptly and correctly informs all departments of the directions and instructions of the national emergency anti-epidemic field. It induces the doctors and nurses in various forms and methods to master the anti-epidemic and hygienic knowledge of the malignant virus infection and its treatment methods. It regularly checks up the temperature of the inpatients and outpatients and informs them of the order of conduct when they have abnormal symptoms.

Pyongyang Municipal People's Hospital No. 3 is effectively operating a rapid collective diagnosis group involving vice-directors and competent medical workers of different departments. The group goes out to the regions with people in a fever to give medical assistance and conduct offensive hygienic propaganda for raising the anti-epidemic consciousness of the residents in curbing the spread of the pandemic.

Public health workers in the city are concentrating efforts on the medical check-up, treatment and disinfection.

Those of the Haeun Polyclinic in Phyongchon District call on all families to find out the patients with abnormal symptoms such as fever and different other symptoms, give them intensive medical examination and take instant treatment measures.

Yu Hyon Chol, Director of the Moranbong District Hygienic and Anti-Epidemic Centre, says:

"We have deployed hygienic and anti-epidemic personnel in all regions of the district to grasp those in a fever and make an epidemiological survey and correct analysis of the febrile tendency according to ages for arresting the spread.

We urgently dispatch members of the rapid mobile team to collect samples of those in a fever, promptly confirm them at the test centres and take measures for treatment. We also inspect the sedimentation, filtering and sterilization of the sewage from the curative and preventive organizations in the district and take relevant measures."

The public health workers continuously strive to win a great victory by fulfilling their role as the soldiers at the outpost of the emergency anti-epidemic war to thoroughly implement the decision of the Eighth Politburo Meeting of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK.
