The Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea called a consultative meeting in the headquarters building of the Party Central Committee on May 29.
The respected Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, guided the consultative meeting.
Present at the meeting were members of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the WPK and members and alternate members of the Political Bureau of the Party Central Committee. Also on hand as observers were officials of the State Emergency Anti-Epidemic Headquarters.
The Political Bureau first heard a report of the State Emergency Anti-Epidemic Headquarters on the spread of the pandemic as of May 28.
More than 89,500 persons in a fever newly occurred and over 106,390 completely recovered across the country from May 27 to 28.
The cumulative total number of those in a fever that occurred across the country from late April to May 28 amounts to more than 3,448,880. More than 3,262,700 equivalent to 94.602 percent were completely recovered and over 186,110 equivalent to 5.396 percent are under treatment.
Reported to the Political Bureau were the situation of the regional spread of the pandemic, the characteristics of its course, various data on analysis and the supply of medicines and experience in treatment.
The Political Bureau listened to the elucidative result of the state study of the place with the outbreak of the disease at the initial stage and the path of its spread before discussing issues concerned.
It positively appreciated that the spread of the pandemic is controlled and bettered on a nationwide scale and discussed issues on continuing to stabilize and improve the anti-epidemic war situation while further consolidating the experience accumulated at the initial stage of the anti-epidemic work.
The Political Bureau discussed an issue on rapidly controlling and enforcing the anti-epidemic rules and guidelines efficiently under the stabilized situation of the spread of the pandemic.
The consultative meeting informed of the activities of the working guidance teams to make an intermediate review of the implementation of the Party and state policies assigned at the Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee and discussed important issues on the preparations of the Fifth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee.
It also studied and discussed the directions of other state affairs.
