A national sci-tech presentation and symposium in the field of railway transport took place between the 18th and the 22nd under the sponsorship of the Central Committee of the General Federation of Science and Technology of Korea.
It was aimed at widely disseminating and generalizing the sci-tech successes and experiences giving a substantial help to improving the safety of railways and accelerating their maintenance and reinforcement.
Present there were officials, scientists and technicians of the Ministry of Railways, Kim Chaek University of Technology, the Pyongyang University of Transport, the Railway Institute and the Information Technology Institute under the Ministry of Railways and locomotive corps of the Railway Bureaus.
More than 60 valuable papers presented by officials, scientists and technicians in the field of railway transport across the country were made public and good proposals conducive to strengthening the material and technical foundations of railways discussed.
A lecture was given for improving the safety and capacity of railway transport.
