Russian President Putin on July 31 signed the decrees ratifying a new marine theory and navigation regulations of the navy.
The decrees declared a new marine theory of Russia was ratified to ensure the implementation of the country’s national marine policy and that the marine theory approved by the president on June 17 2015 was recognized as invalid.
They also declared that the head of state ratified the Russian navy’s supplemented navigation regulations and ordered an amendment of the regulations of the internal security and guarding organs of the Russian armed forces which were approved in accordance with a Russian presidential decree dated November 10 2007.
The new marine theory asserted that the US’ line aimed at holding sway over the world’s oceans and exercising its global influence over the use of transport routes and energy resources of all oceans is becoming a major challenge and threat to the national security and sustainable development of the Russian Federation.
And it also stressed that NATO’s approach to Russia’s border and the increasing frequency of its military exercises in the water areas adjacent to the territory of the country also constitute one of such threats.
