Korea’s liberation is the priceless fruition of the steadfast spirit of independence of President Kim Il Sung.

Early in the initial days of his revolutionary activities, Kim Il Sung clarified the profound truth that man is the master of his own destiny and he has the ability to carve out his own destiny, and hewed out a new road quite different from the older generation’s, an original way of making the revolution by relying on the people with a belief in them.

His principle was that only when revolutionaries awaken the masses of the people, arouse them by rallying them into one and encourage them to the struggle, can they defeat Japanese imperialism with their own efforts and achieve the country’s liberation.

After advancing an idea that when they fight with armed enemies with arms, the Korean people could win victory, he put forward a line of armed struggle with guerrilla warfare as its main content at the Mingyuegou Meeting in December 1931.

Therefore, the Anti-Japanese People’s Guerrilla Army was founded on April 25 1932 as the first Juche-oriented revolutionary armed force of the Korean people and their anti-Japanese armed struggle started against one million Japanese troops.

The anti-Japanese guerrillas made Yongil bomb while building arsenals in thick forests and tailored hundreds of military uniforms by reprocessing broken sewing-machine needles by their own efforts to fight enemies.

Kim Il Sung formed the Association for the Restoration of the Fatherland, the anti-Japanese national united front body, and made full preparations to proactively greet the great event of national liberation through all-people resistance.

Under his leadership, the ARF network stretched to all parts of Korea, Manchuria where the Korean compatriots resided and even Japan. Many armed uprising organizations and armed units made full preparations for all-people resistance to liberate the country.

At last, Kim Il Sung issued a final order of offensive operations to liberate the country on August 9 1945.

The Japanese imperialists declared unconditional surrender and Korea was liberated thanks to the final offensive operations of the Korean People’s Revolutionary Army, the main force of the anti-Japanese revolution, and the general mobilization of all-people resistant force which joined the operations.

National liberation achieved on the basis of the steadfast spirit of independence was the victory of the independent spirit and line that the revolution of one’s own country should be undertaken and carried out by its people.
