the Korean revolution under the uplifted banner of independence.President Kim Il Sung was born into a revolutionary family in Mangyongdae on April 15, 1912.April 15 is the day of historic significance for the world progressive people.The DPRK people mark April 15 as the Day of the Sun, the greatest national holiday and progressive mankind regard it as a great day symbolic of the victorious advance of the cause of global independence.After embarking on the road of revolution in his early teens, he formed the Down-with-Imperialism Union on October 17, 1926 and the Young Communist League of Korea on August 28, 1927.He who founded the Anti-Japanese People’s Guerrilla Army on April 25, 1932 led the arduous anti-Japanese armed struggle to victory until August 15, 1945 and started the cause of founding the party, army and state without delay after the liberation of the country.The DPRK people defeated the allied imperialist forces during the three year-long Fatherland Liberation War under his leadership.After the war they carried out rehabilitation and construction from scratch and built a powerful socialist state through an arduous struggle.He put forward the original line for economic construction on giving priority to the growth of heavy industry while simultaneously developing light industry and agriculture so that the DPRK people might advance along the road of independence.The tax system had already been abolished long ago in the DPRK and the state has enforced the best social policies such as providing ordinary working people with houses free of charge and putting into force free education and free medical service.The President was a great philosopher, statesman and strategist who adorned the 20th century with his outstanding ideological and theoretical activities and wise leadership.He fathered the Juche idea centered on the masses, ushering in the era of Juche, a new era in the history of mankind.The feats performed by him in all fields including politics, economy, military and culture are the precious legacy not only for the DPRK people but for the world progressives.He developed the Korean People's Army into a powerful revolutionary army of Juche, the army of the Party and leader and the genuine army for the people.Under the wise leadership of the President, the KPA defeated the imperialists and thus defended the sovereignty of the country and made a great contribution to ensuring world peace and security.The President was an outstanding leader who built socialist Korea and performed immortal exploits for the DPRK people’s happiness and prosperity and the sacred cause of global independence.President Kim Il Sung, founder of socialist Korea, is being praised by the DPRK people as benevolent father.He was the great father who looked after the life and destiny of the people.Thanks to his warm love for the people the free healthcare and education systems have long been enforced in the DPRK and the improvement of the standard of the people’s living has become the supreme principle of the activities of the Party and the state.He made an endless journey for field guidance for them even on his birthday.He devoted himself to improving the standard of the people’s living, walking along lanes between fields of co-op farms even in the last days of his great life in 1994.He put forward the children as the king of the country and spared nothing for them.He sincerely helped the cause of independence against imperialism in other countries.The banner of independence held high by him even now serves as the great motive power instilling great strength and courage into progressive mankind.President Kim Il Sung, the great leader of the DPRK people performed the immortal exploits for realizing the cause of national reunification.He who set forth the reunification of the country as the greatest task of the nation put forward the three principles of national reunification-- independence, peaceful reunification and great unity of the nation and energetically led the struggle to realize it.The fair and aboveboard proposal for reunification set forth by him and the historic July 4 Joint Statement adopted and published thanks to his efforts gained great support and sympathy from not only all the Koreans in the north and the south and overseas but also the world people.The world recognizes that Leader Kim Jong Il worked heart and soul to carry out the instructions of President Kim Il Sung for national reunification and performed the immortal exploits.Today General Secretary Kim Jong Un is leading the struggle for achieving the cause of Korean nation’s reunification.Korea will surely be reunified thanks to him.General Secretary Kim Jong Un, a creditable successor to the cause of President Kim Il Sung and Leader Kim Jong Il, is wisely leading the DPRK.I extend full support and solidarity to the Workers’ Party of Korea and the DPRK people in their struggle for building a
