Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez, first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba, on September 15 called on basic party organizations to bolster party work, take an active part in the implementation of key tasks and strengthen bonds with residents.
Noting that intensified ideological work can enhance the party’s functions and shore up the country’s economy, he said it is especially important to bolster the internal party work at present when the US is attempting to stamp out the Cuban revolution.
The only way to counter the hostile policy of the US is to achieve socio-economic development, resolve the energy crisis and the food shortage problem and overcome the blockade by dint of a creative struggle.
