Ri Hyon Ae, workteam leader at the Central District Water Supply and Sewage Management Station in the capital city of Pyongyang, has devotedly worked for tens of years at a difficult and labour-consuming post.
After graduating from a middle school, she made a resolve to devote herself to supporting the country while taking part in the projects to build many monumental structures for the people in the capital city construction sector.
Later, she volunteered to work as a sewage dredger.
She has made painstaking efforts, looking round the sewerage networks in the area in her charge all day long, even on days off and holidays, lest residents feel any convenience in their living.
In recognition of her distinguished service, the state put her forward as a meritorious person of socialist patriotism and awarded her the title of Merited Urban Management Worker.
In order to repay the great favour shown by the country, she is invariably following the road of devotion for the sake of people.
She was busy looking after her family as a housewife. She often got feeble-minded sometimes as she got tired of passing through narrow manholes. But she braced herself up whenever residents expressed their gratitude for her as she repaired the drains in time.
Her family was included in those moving into new houses in the residential district of terraced apartment buildings on the bank of the Pothong River in Pyongyang in April.
