In May this year the national anti-epidemic work in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea was switched over to the highest-level emergency anti-epidemic system due to sudden public health crisis. Measures for locking down the whole country by units and regions were taken, and a campaign was conducted across the country to cut off the routes of spread of the malignant virus and exterminate it.

Even in this situation, the state did not suspend the work of ensuring the people’s well-being.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un ensured that the projects of building 10 000 flats in the Hwasong area in the capital city of Pyongyang and the Ryonpho Greenhouse Farm, the largest of its kind in the country, were pushed ahead without let up. Mindful of the nursing mothers who would be suffering by sudden lock-down, he took measures for supplying baby formula and rice powder to them, and ensured that cereals and other daily necessaries were supplied to every house. And not minding his personal safety, he visited the anti-epidemic sites, taking opportune measures. Thanks to his leadership, the malignant virus was exterminated in just 90-odd days and the country recovered stability and peace for the people.

Promotion of the people’s well-being is something he gives top priority whatever the situation. He holds their opinions and demands most sacred, and gives top and absolute priority to things that serve them.

Despite the difficult conditions of the country, he ensured that last year it was set as Party policy to supply all the children across the country with nourishing foods including dairy products at state expense and that the policy was executed without fail. Saying that supply of uniforms and other school things to the students across the country at state expense is a consistent policy of the Party and the state, he set forth the task of supplying all the students with quality uniforms and bags of new forms without exception, and took important measures in the name of the Party Central Committee for implementing it. He personally tasted newly-produced dairy products, and gave instructions on the styles of new school uniforms while seeing them on several occasions.

His guidance is bearing rich fruits.

In October last the large-scale Ryonpho Greenhouse Farm, built in over 230 days, was inaugurated, for the supply of fresh vegetables in all seasons to the people in South Hamgyong Province, and 5 500 modern farm machines were supplied to South Hwanghae Province, the biggest agricultural province in the country, to help the local agricultural workers and contribute to solving the food problem. Construction of 10 000 flats in the Hwasong area is also nearing its completion.

The Korean people are sure that more innovative successes will be achieved in their country under their leader’s guidance.
