A meeting of reviewing the socialist emulation drive of the fruit farming sector in 2022 was held on January 31 through videoconferencing.
It was attended by Ju Chol Gyu, vice-premier of the Cabinet and chairman of the Agricultural Commission, Ri Tu Song, department director of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, officials concerned and those of the Agricultural Commission, the Union of Agricultural Workers of Korea and the units participating in the emulation drive.
They watched a video, which was followed by the announcement of the rankings.
And official commendations and rotating pennants in the joint name of the WPK Central Committee and the DPRK Cabinet were conferred on Pukchong County, the Onchon Fruit Farm and Toksong Apple Farm respectively.
Speeches were made.
Speakers noted that with the determination to hit the fruit production target put forward by the Party, they produced high and stable yields despite unfavourable weather conditions last year by establishing a food production cycle combining fruit and livestock farming and managing the nutrition of fruit trees in a scientific way, including taking thoroughgoing blight extermination measures, while producing plenty of manure to increase soil fertility.
