Underwater launching drill of the strategic cruise missiles was held in the early morning of March 12.
The submarine "August 24 Hero Warship" which was mobilized for the drill launched two strategic cruise missiles at the waters off the Kyongpho Bay of the East Sea of Korea.
The launching drill confirmed the reliability of the weapon system and inspected and judged the operational posture of the underwater-to-ground attack of the submarine units which are of another important components of the nuclear deterrent forces of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.
The launching drill successfully achieved its purpose.
The launched two cruise missiles made the flight for 7,563 to 7,575 seconds along the figure "8"-shaped flight orbit simulating the distance of 1,500 kilometres set on the East Sea of Korea and hit the target.
The Central Military Commission of the Workers' Party of Korea expressed satisfaction over the result of the launching drill.
