Choe Ryong Hae, Member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and First Vice-President of the State Affairs Commission and Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People's Assembly of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made a field survey of different units in Sukchon County of South Phyongan Province.
Looking round the Yoltusamchon, Yakjon and Chili Farms, he encouraged the officials and agricultural workers who are devoting themselves to the present farming in response to the idea and spirit of the Seventh Plenary Meeting of the Eighth Party Central Committee. And he stressed that the officials should map out minute operation and plan for bringing about a fundamental change in the agricultural production and promote them in a practical way.
At the farm machine workshop, the farm implement factory and the forestry management station in the county, he touched on decisively increasing the proportion of mechanization in the agricultural production, taking thorough measures to supply farming equipment badly needed at the farms and directing efforts to putting the sapling production on a scientific and intensive footing.
Choe Ryong Hae said the officials of the agricultural guidance organs at all levels should throw themselves into the implementation of the agricultural policy of the Party and the deputies to the power organs should take the lead in the agricultural production.
On the other hand, he understood the judicial affairs of the Sukchon County People's Committee and discussed relevant issues before taking necessary measures.
