A mass movement is brisk in North Hwanghae Province to expand the area under cultivation.

This year alone, the province has acquired new land and restored farmland in the area of hundreds of hectares.

Suan County has acquired several hectares of new land and did tens of thousand cubic metres of dredging of some rivers and thus restored the land washed out and protected more than 20 hectares of farmland.

Yonthan County has mobilized vehicles and manpower to straighten waterway and do the embankment in a short span of time and rehabilitate a lot of land.

Thosan County has readjusted the land as good as forest and reclaimed the non-cultivating land to secure tens of hectares of area for cultivating grains and straightened the roads to obtain a lot of reserve cropland.

Singye and Koksan Counties restore the land washed out by flood and landslide and plant crops in time.
