The State Strain Preservation Institute under the State Academy of Sciences intensifies research to ensure domestic production of main fish feed additives.
The researchers have carried out in-depth research into producing vitamin A, one of the main fish feed additives, with locally available materials for years.
They said that the most important part of the research is to enhance the activity of microbes that make a substance analogous to vitamin A which is recognized as one of the most powerful antioxidants in the world.
They selected a high-grade strain which is several times more active and solved scientific and technological problems arising in producing vitamin A in an industrial way.
On the basis of it, they succeeded in producing a fish feed additive with a high vitamin A content.
The additive was introduced into breeding various kinds of fishes including catfish, loach, rainbow trout, sturgeon and mandarin fish to increase their fattening and survival rates.
It also helped several catfish and other fish farms throughout the country boost production and brought large profits to the country.
The research finding obtained a certificate of introduction of state sci-tech hits.
