Literary works created by broad sections of working people in reflection of their creative labour and emotion of life in the pulsating reality instil innovative zeal into all producers.

Pak Ho Gyun, worker of the heat production workshop at the East Pyongyang Thermal Power Station, wrote lyrics entitled “O Power Station, Together with You” which came third in the national lyric prize contest-2021.

Yun Pok Sil, worker of the Pyongyang Cosmetics Factory, and other literary group members created many works by reflecting their minds that contribute to the production of ‘Unhasu’ cosmetics. Though they are professional writers and poetesses, their works win popularity among fellow workers as they present their life vividly.

As head of the literary group, Yun wrote a lyric poem “I am a student of online college” in reflection of her worthwhile part-time working life in October 2015 to win third place in the national mass literary work prize contest. In December the same year, she brought out eloquent speech “Key” by mirroring her feeling to bring earlier the future by dint of science and technology at the national workers literary work prize contest to take the first place.

In February 2017, she produced the words of song “A happy photograph” by reflecting her happiness with the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un in attendance at workplace, thus winning the second place at the national mass literary work prize contest.

All the prize winners say unanimously that pulsating reality is the stage of creation.

Workers of the Pyongyang Kim Jong Suk Textile Mill hold a short poem exhibition at their production site as they present diverse forms of poetical works on the theme of stories woven at their workplace during production activities.

Workers, farmers, university students, lecturers and many other working people produced poem, words of song, drama, animation and different forms of literary works on a par with professional writers to contribute to the national mass literary work prize contest which is held regularly.

Not only citizens of the capital city but also agricultural workers send many literary works after receiving modern dwelling houses gratis thanks to the policy of the country in recent years and moving into modern rural houses which have wonderfully been built along with a new era of rural development.

According to leading creative officials of the Central Committee of the Writers Union of Korea, gratitude to all the country’s policies for the people, the emotion and worth of working life and the optimism for better future to be more prosperous are the theme running through almost all mass literary works.

The all-inclusive enthusiasm for the mass literary work prize contest is further growing in this significant year that marks the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War and the 75th anniversary of the founding of the DPRK.
