Talks between Kang Sun Nam, Minister of National Defence of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, and Sergei Shoigu, Defence Minister of the Russian Federation, took place in Pyongyang on the 26th.
Present at the talks from the Korean side were Jong Kyong Thaek, Director of the General Political Bureau of the Korean People's Army, and Im Chon Il, Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, and from the opposite side were members of the military delegation of the Russian Federation including Vice-Defence Minister Aleksei Krivoruchko and Vice-Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko, Alexander Matsegora, Russian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the DPRK, and staff members of the Russian embassy.
The talks mentioned the issue on further strengthening the strategic and traditional DPRK-Russia friendly relations and expanding and developing the militant friendship and cooperation between the armies of the two countries according to the historic common understanding and agreement made by the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un and the esteemed President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin. At the talks, they exchanged opinions on regional and international issues of mutual concern before reaching a complete consensus of views.
