Kang Sun Nam, Member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and Minster of National Defence of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, made a speech at the military parade for celebrating the 70th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War.
He said:
It is a great honour of the officers and men of the Armed Forces of the DPRK and a great event of the entire Korean people to hold a military parade for celebrating the V-Day at the square where they raised cheers of hurrah after firmly defending the country from the invasion of the US imperialists and troops of their satellite states and winning a great victory 70 years ago.
The 70th anniversary of the victory in the Fatherland Liberation War is a monument of history built by the victory in the three-year-long war along with the 70 years that defended the victory and the grand festival today is the climax of honour supported by the warriors during the war and their descendants. The army and people have firmly defended the undying fame and valuable honour of a victor nation while turning the most rigid years of the revolution into those of legendary miracles and leaps forward for 70 years since the war. It is a victory as good as the war victory and a victory more tremendous than the former. It is incomparably valuable and so priceless, weighty and noble.
The speaker expressed the conviction that today's military parade, where the great history of victory will be shown as a rapid current of powerful strength, will be a unique and mighty supreme festival of war victory unprecedented in the world. He stressed that the DPRK led by the invincible revolutionary Party and the outstanding leader will prosper for ages and the great Korean people advancing the revolutionary cause of Juche, the socialist cause, will achieve the eternal victory and glory.
