An international seminar on “Independence, Sovereignty and Social Development” sponsored by the International Institute of the Juche Idea was held in Rome, Italy on September 3, 2023 on the occasion of the 75th founding anniversary of the DPRK.

The seminar was participated by IIJI deputy director-general Matteo Carbonnelli, ESSJI director-general Edmond Jouve and his members, Alexander Vorontsov who is the chief of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Science, members of the Juche idea study organizations in Austria, Norway, Romania, Japan and several other countries and personages of political, social and academic circles in Italy.The seminar was participated on-line by delegates of the Juche idea study organizations in over 60 countries including IIJI director-general Ramon Jimenez Lopez, IIJI secretary-general Kenichi Ogami, directors-general and secretaries-general of regional institutes in Asia, Africa and Latin America and KASS vice-chairman and his members and by persons of various strata.

At the seminar, the IIJI deputy director-general delivered an opening address, congratulatory messages sent from the KASS and each regional Juche idea study organization were read out, and the IIJI director-general and secretary-general and KASS vice-chairman made congratulatory speeches.

Keynote report was made by the ESSJI director-general and speeches were made by the directors of each regional institute and the chief of the Institute of Oriental Studies of the Russian Academy of Science.

Speakers highly praised immortal exploits performed by President Kim Il Sung and Chairman Kim Jong Il in founding, strengthening and developing the DPRK and in realizing the cause of global independence.

The speakers said that Kim Il Sung, who authored the Juche idea, elucidated for the first time in history that independence is life and soul not only for a man but for the country and nation and started the building of an independent country. They stressed that the DPRK could firmly adhere to the principles of Juche in ideology, independence in politics, self-sufficiency in the economy and self-reliance in national defence for the past 75 years as it had President Kim Il Sung.

They said that Kim Jong Il, the great successor to Kim Il Sung, who kept the firm conviction that existence and sustaining development of the country are guaranteed by the force of arms, achieved brilliant victory in the showdown with the imperialist forces and firmly safeguarded the Republic which is a fortress of socialism and a citadel of independence with his outstanding leadership capabilities. They underlined that the great exploits achieved by Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in founding, strengthening and developing the DPRK and realizing the cause of global independence would be immortal forever along with the ardent desire of mankind and the prosperous future of the DPRK.

The speakers highly praised that the DPRK has occupied the strategic position and achieved incredible development as it has Kim Jong Un. They expressed firm conviction of victory in socialism.

The speakers said that dignity of the DPRK people is envied by the world and the DPRK demonstrates its might in the world thanks to the outstanding leadership of the respected H.E. Kim Jong Un. They stressed that the DPRK showed the world progressives, with its practical example, that revolution can be victorious only when it is led by a great leader. Saying that the DPRK plays an important role on a world-wide scale as a responsible nuclear power in today’s multi-polarized world and has become a country that cannot be neglected in deciding the switch to a new structure of international relations, they unanimously said that they hoped to experience realities of the DPRK that achieves remarkable development under the leadership of H.E. Kim Jong Un and to learn after its experiences.

Expressing their emotion of having had a grand gathering of the Juche idea followers after more than 3 years of crisis of the malignant disease, the speakers said that they would study and disseminate the Juche idea in all countries and regions in a more active way to hasten the realization of global independence.

The seminar adopted a letter to Kim Jong Un in reflection of the unanimous mind of all participants.

The participants watched a video “A New Era of Overall Development Brought by Great Leadership 2020-2023”.

A banquet was arranged jointly by the IIJI and the KASS.

The IIJI posted on its homepage more than 70 speeches of the Juche idea followers and political and academic figures in over 50 countries as well as the congratulatory messages from the KASS and each regional institute of the Juche idea.
