The Academy of Medical Sciences is achieving successes in the efforts to produce valuable scientific research findings conducive to protecting the people’s life and promoting their health and ensuring the preventive and curative medical care.
The Antibody Engineering Institute collected many basic data needed for making new medicines in close ties with relative units. Based on them, it developed a Korean-style molecular target medicine which is capable of preventing and curing tumour while strengthening the immunity of a patient by a bioengineering method.
The Tumour Institute developed an anticancer injection which curbs the outbreak and growth of cancer cells with locally-abundant Koryo medicinal materials. It completed new therapies to cure malignant lymphoma with home-made medicines and applied them into clinical practice.
The Environmental Hygienic Institute developed a freshness preserving chip by making use the character of propolis, which makes it possible to prolong the shelf life of foods with no negative effect on human body.
The Medicobiological Institute and other institutes are making vigorous efforts to develop medicines with good effects which suit the physical features of Koreans and shorten the treatment period.
