DPRK weightlifters Pang Un Chol and Won Hyon Sim took the first place at the 2023 International Weightlifting Federation Grand Prix which started in Doha of Qatar on the 4th.
More than 380 excellent male and female weightlifters from over 90 countries and regions including the DPRK, China, Indonesia and France are competing in the grand prix.
Pang Un Chol lifted 116 kilograms in snatch, 152 kilograms in clean and jerk and 268 kilograms in total in the men's 55-kilogram event, and Won Hyon Sim snatched 82 kilograms, jerked 99 kilograms and lifted a total of 181 kilograms in the women's 45-kilogram event, winning three gold medals respectively.
On the other hand, Ri Song Gum bagged a gold medal in snatch of the women's 49-kilogram event and finished second in total.
