Dear comrades and friends,

I, in the name of the Brazilian Centre for the Study of Songun Politics, offer my sincere thanks to the Korean Association of Social Scientists for inviting me to this important international seminar which commemorates the 75th founding anniversary of the DPRK. We disseminate the Juche ideaa in different ways among our Brazilian people. We carry on the internet numerous articles which have contents and existing events that attract more and more people who are interested in experiences of the Korean revolution.

September 9 is a special day for all free people in the world. Think of the day when the DPRK people determined to follow the road of socialism, the road of building a powerful independent and sovereign state which is contrary to the poor puppet state patronized by outside forces.

It is necessary to mention about some important historic facts.

We should not forget 3 years from 1945 to 1948. Comrade Kim Il Sung’s excellent leadership and unity of the Korean people firmly rallied around him under his leadership neutralized the Yankees’ plan to occupy Korea.

Causing disharmony among the Korean people while ignoring every expectation of free election, the US unilaterally decided to establish a puppet state and make Syngman Rhyee and his clan take office. The advent of the South Korean puppet regime was decided by the US, and the decision did not reflect the DPRK people’s independent will to determine their own issue by themselves. The advent of the puppet regime was a serious threat to socialism and the DPRK people’s sovereignty. It was because this implied the division of Korea.

That the DPRK was founded on September 9, 1948 was an exercise of the rights to independence and self-defence of the DPRK people who determined to build a genuine state capable of defending their experiences gained in the revolutionary struggle and their own interests.

The DPRK is the only legitimate state in Korea. It is because the root of the DPRK is the revolutionary people’s governments established and administered by the Korean people in the period of the anti-Japanese revolutionary war.

The DPRK people took it for granted that Comrade Kim Il Sung was elected the Premier of the DPRK Cabinet. He advanced theoretical and practical lines for national liberation and devoted scores of years of his life to the armed struggle against aggressors.

Comrade Kim Il Sung was the leader who always found himself among the people, enjoyed respect as the top person of the Korean revolution and the leader who did not submit himself to any external instructions or ambitions but regarded the DPRK people as the one and only guide for him.

Though it faced grave difficulties forced by the enemy already in the first period of its founding, the DPRK created many miracles. Coinciding with the period when the US was hastening its preparations for a war to be ignited in 1950, the DPRK intended to build a modern and advanced industrial centre for itself. Already in the first period of its founding, the DPRK built the diversified and gradually increasing economy by relying mainly on self-sufficiency.

As we all know, on June 25, 1950 2-year old young DPRK faced unprecedented and the biggest trial that it had to defend the country from the aggressive war provoked by the US imperialists. The DPRK was engrossed in the task to achieve the second national liberation and organized and mobilized the entire people to the struggle to repulse the enemy’s aggression and drive them out of their territory.

The DPRK people have just celebrated the 70th anniversary of victory in the Fatherland Liberation War. It is necessary for us to recall and think of the miracle and wisdom of the DPRK that won victory in the terrible war. The important aim of the US was to stifle the DPRK and expand their neo-colonial domination to whole Korea through their unprecedentedly brutal aggressive war against its people. The imperialists failed to realize their aim. It was because the DPRK forced the US to cease fire in 1953. This dealt a blow to the Yankees and they remember the Korean war still now.

The DPRK people and the People’s Army were fused into a harmonious whole to safeguard the country to the end, which meant defending their lives, honor and dignity.

The DPRK became more powerful after the war. Post-war rehabilitation of the state and the economy will be recorded forever in the world history books. Its people built a genuine socialist paradise for the workers, farmers, soldiers and intellectuals in the spirit of Chollima. In 1960, that is, 7 years after the destructive war, the DPRK, on which the imperialists dropped much more bombs than those used in all wars in Europe during the period from 1939 to 1945, completely rehabilitated its economy and its production rate was increased more than that in 1950, before the war. The DPRK was rehabilitated and reconstructed into a modern and advanced socialist country which provided the people with houses, jobs, social stability, civil rights and relatively prospering and peaceful life.

In external point of view, the DPRK was a friendly nation, which gave numerous support and assistance for scores of years to the world oppressed people in their national liberation movement and the anti-racist, anti-capitalist struggle. There are many countries in Africa, Asia and Latin America which were built by the DPRK’s assistance. In those countries, there are many streets, roads, squares, factories and universities named after the august name “Kim Il Sung” in reflection of their respect to the DPRK leader who rendered sincere help to them in the difficult periods.

We should not ignore the fact that the DPRK insisted the peaceful north-south dialogue based on the idea that their problems can be settled by only the Korean people themselves. The DPRK always asserted the north-south dialogue and expressed its friendly attitude, but, to our regret, the north and south could not establish peaceful relations due to the US and the puppets’ maneuvers. In obedience to the US interests, the South Korean Authorities broke the north-south contacts and implanted hostility towards the DPRK people in minds of its people.

In the 1990s, the DPRK faced once again the unbearable trials fabricated by the US and its allied forces. Enormous economic problems, which were generated owing to sanctions (that are continued still now) to stifle the DPRK people, brought a period of hardships to them. The US encircled the DPRK militarily and schemed to provoke a new war on the Korean peninsula. In this period, the DPRK was in difficulties that it had to decisively choose the road of socialism and independence. Under the leadership of Comrade Kim Jong Il, the DPRK people mapped out powerful nuclear and missile plans in order to put the DPRK onto a position of a dignified nuclear state. They broke the US imperialists’ daydream. The People’s Army, a reliable pivot of the DPRK, not only increased its defence capabilities but carried out the economic construction in cooperation with the people. Based on the revolutionary Juche idea, the DPRK’s economy set up various production bases capable of substantially meeting every need of the people on the basis of self-supporting foundations even under the vicious sanctions.

In today’s world the DPRK is a model of an independent and viable socialism that achieves sure successes under the wise leadership of the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un. The DPRK is a beacon that leads the world people to the road of revolution, anti-imperialism, independence and socialism. The DPRK is the state that wins respect as the days go by as it has the advanced nuclear and missile arsenal dealing successive and ignominious defeat to the US who boasts itself to be the master of the world and speaks loudly that it can decide the people’s destiny.

The DPRK is an excellent model of iron will and determination that enables not to yield before the biggest pressure. The DPRK is an independent and free sovereign state that does what it is desirous to do and determined to build a prosperous, modern and advanced country for the people.

We, the friends of the DPRK in the world are faced with more important task to propagate its realities and deal a blow to falsehoods and slanders spread by the Western media by mobilizing every possible means. As the DPRK people’s friends who study the Juche idea, it is our duty to positively and actively study and disseminate realities of the DPRK. We should reveal the US criminal economic sanctions to stifle the DPRK and its different military attempts to make the DPRK’s existence unstable.

Our solidarity and affection for the DPRK should be unlimited and renewed all the time.

I sincerely congratulate the 75th founding anniversary of the full-fledged DPRK.

Glory to wise leadership of Comrades Kim Il Sung, Kim Jong Il and Kim Jong Un who built the most prominent and developed DPRK for 75 years!
