Different parts of the country are now striving to reenergize the production of dairy products and consolidate the foundations for their production.
North Hamgyong Province is renovating milch cow and goat farms while strengthening their production foundations. By setting the Chongjin City Goat Farm as a model unit in the province, it has already sent there many goats of fine breed.
It also finished the projects for setting up modern dairy production processes in city and county foodstuff factories and is now channelling efforts into furnishing rural villages with milk-processing bases.
South Hamgyong Province is also making similar efforts. It has ensured that the Hungsang and Inhung milch cow farms with large production capacity are fully provided with equipment and the seed grains needed for the satisfactory supply of feed and that such local areas and industrial establishments as Hamju and Pukchong counties and the Hungnam Fertilizer Complex renovate the existing livestock farms and improve the performance of milk-processing facilities.
South Hwanghae Province is working to increase the number of dairy goats and milk output in order to satisfy the regional need for dairy products. Kwail County additionally secured over 1 000 dairy goats, and Pongchon County has put goat breeding on a more scientific footing to steadily supply children in the county with high quality dairy products in conformity with the norm.
Kangwon Province is focusing on laying foundations for the delivery of dairy products and the scientific rearing and tending of milch cows and goats.
It has already established a milk powder container production process in the Wonsan Disabled Soldiers’ Essential Plastic Goods Factory to turn out large numbers of such containers.
According to its plan for setting up a Koryo veterinary medicine production process, it renovated a production building and manufactured and installed a concentrator, grinding mill and other facilities.
South Phyongan Province organized efficient demonstrations in conformity with the topographical features and grazing conditions of relevant units, so as to secure large numbers of milch cows and goats and thousands of hectares of grass fields and pastures in a short period, thus providing a sure guarantee for increasing milk output.
Pyongyang, North Hwanghae Province, Nampho and other areas are pressing on with the projects for increasing dairy production including the construction of milch cow farms, manufacture of milk powder production facilities and creation of grass fields.
Meanwhile, many scientific research units across the country are engrossed in research for solving technical problems arising in enhancing the quality and increasing the output of processed milk products.
