Pyongyang, February 15 (KCNA) -- Kim Jong Un , general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and president of the State Affairs of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, gave field guidance to a major munitions factory.

He was accompanied by Pak Jong Chon and Jo Chun Ryong, secretaries of the Central Committee of the WPK.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was greeted by Ko Pyong Hyon, chairman of the Second Economy Commission, and leading officials of the factory on the spot.

Going round various places of the factory, Kim Jong Un learned in detail about the modernization of production processes and the current production.

Officials and workers of the factory have turned out in the drive to carry out the important instructions given by Kim Jong Un during his field guidance to the factory in August last year and the resolutions set forth at the 9th Plenary Meeting of the 8th Central Committee of the WPK. They have successfully completed the remodeling of the factory buildings, carried out the modernization of production processes at a high level and conducted a dynamic drive for increased production in munitions production by giving full play to their creative ability and potentials.

Kim Jong Un highly praised the factory for having undergone a radical change in its appearance as befitting a core and vanguard factory in the field of munitions industry, radically improved the modernization level of production processes and steadily accelerated the work for increasing production capacity.

He once again stressed the important duty of the factory in bolstering up the armed forces of the DPRK and set forth the important tasks for improving the quality of munitions and decisively increasing production as required by the prevailing situation and the developing revolution.

The key to the increased production lies in giving full play to the mental power of the workers in the munitions industry, the producers, he said, stressing that the factory should vigorously conduct the political work so that they are better aware of the Party's policy on bolstering up the defence capability and the requirements of the situation than others and effect a surge in production by dint of ardent patriotism, transparent viewpoint on the archenemy and will toward the enemy, and should scrupulously organize and command production and thus make a radical innovation in munitions production.

He indicated the issue for the factory and other major core factories to constantly push ahead with the modernization and the work for steadily expanding production capacity as required by the developing era of ultra-modern defence science and technology and the orientation for the Second Economy Commission to start an important new plan.

All the officials, workers and technicians of the factory made a firm pledge to carry out without fail the tasks set forth by the Party Central Committee by waging a dynamic drive for increased production and creation with absolute loyalty and the spirit of devoted implementation, bearing in mind the great trust and expectation of Kim Jong Un who put their factory in the front rank of the munitions industry in the sacred struggle for bolstering up the national defence capability. -0-
