The People's Art Festival that opened in the capital city of Pyongyang on the occasion of the 82nd birth anniversary of the great leader Kim Jong Il came to a close.
Its closing ceremony was held at the East Pyongyang Grand Theatre on the 18th.
Present there were Ju Chang Il, Department Director of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, Jon Kyong Chol, Deputy Department Director of the Party Central Committee, officials concerned and the participants in the festival.
The results of judgment of the festival were announced first at the closing ceremony.
Team prize was awarded to 23 excellent units, ensemble prize to 19 works, prize of excellence to 10 units, creation prize to 10 persons and prize for best acting to 30 persons.
Diplomas, cups and prizes were awarded to the excellent teams and individuals.
Diplomas and cups were also awarded to three works highly estimated at the magic festival.
A letter of loyalty to the respected Comrade Kim Jong Un was adopted at the closing ceremony.
Minister of Culture Sung Jong Gyu, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Festival, made a closing address.
He said the People's Art Festival served as a significant occasion that expressed the revolutionary will and passion of the Korean people to hold Kim Jong Il in high esteem forever and vigorously open up a new era of the overall national prosperity in unity around the Party Central Committee.
It is entirely a brilliant fruition of the wise leadership of Kim Jong Un that the festival could be held as a grand political festival of expressing the admiration for the leader and praying for his immortality and as an all-people art festival, he stressed.
Expressing the conviction that all the participants in the festival would bring about a revolutionary turn in the creation and performance of literary and artistic works and mass cultural and art activities and thus give fuller play to the strong spirit of the country ushering in a new period of the overall national prosperity with the might of patriotism and the might of unity, he declared the People's Art Festival for Celebrating the 82nd Birth Anniversary of the Great Leader Kim Jong Il closed.
The flag of the festival was lowered amid the playing of the song "Shine, Jong Il Peak".
Then, a closing performance was given.
