82nd birth anniversary of Chairman Kim Jong Il marked by Koreans in China Events were held by the General Association of Koreans in China to celebrate the 82nd birth anniversary of the great leader Kim Jong Il.
The General Association of Koreans in China and its affiliated organizations including the Association of Korean Women in China, and the family of Huang Baihe, a China-resident Korean related to the anti-Japanese revolution, laid floral baskets before the bronze statue of the great leader Kim Il Sung at the Yuwen Middle School in Jilin and the smiling portraits and pictures of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il at the embassy of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in China and the DPRK missions in Shenyang and Dandong, and paid homage to them.
A meeting of the General Association of Koreans in China was held in its conference hall on the 16th. Present there were Chairwoman Choe Un Bok and other leading officials of the General Association of Koreans in China, members of the Federation of Korean Economic Workers in China and the Association of Young Korean Nationals in China, officials of the Liaoning Regional Association of the General Association and citizens of its Shenyang City Branch.
The national anthem of the DPRK was played and Chairwoman Choe Un Bok made a report.
The meeting ended with the chorus "Song of General Kim Jong Il".
Then, there were a performance and a reception.
The officials and members of the General Association of Koreans in China watched a documentary dealing with the immortal revolutionary life and exploits of Kim Jong Il on the 15th.
In the meantime, a round-table forum and other colourful events were also held by the Yanbian and Mudanjiang Regional Associations and other affiliated organizations of the General Association of Koreans in China.
