The Korean Central News Agency released a commentary under the title "Are the US 'Efforts for Cease-Fire' 'Tears of Crocodile'?".
The commentary said:
A resolution was brought up at the UN Security Council on the 20th, which reflected the world people's desire for resolutely frustrating Israel's massacre of Palestinians. But it became a dead letter because only the United States exercised its veto.
In early January the US Secretary of State bustled about countries in the Middle East and pretended as if he is interested in peace, saying "vicious cycle of violence should be prevented" and "civilians should be protected". Biden talked about "cease-fire", amazing the world people.
Some time ago, the White House made a so-called announcement opening to the public that Biden had a talk with the Israeli Prime Minister on the phone and called for taking "immediate and detailed measures" to expand thoroughgoing and sustainable provision of humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip.
Such acting of the United States playing like an "apostle of peace" is aimed at quelling the anger of the international community against Israel's massacre of the Palestinian civilians. Importantly, it is nothing but a trick to intercept it in advance for fear that the United States may be completely isolated and rejected in the world because of its absolutely pro-Israeli policy.
Though voices increased internationally calling for making a truce and putting an end to a war, the United States has continuously supported Israel's massacre politically and militarily, contrary to its extensive propaganda of "efforts for cease-fire".
Some time ago, the United States instigated the Senate to pass the bill on the assistance of more than 14 billion US dollars to Israel and vetoed for the third time the resolution on the cease-fire in the Gaza Strip brought up at the UN Security Council.
All facts clearly show that the so-called US "efforts for cease-fire" loudly advertised by the world are no more than "tears of crocodile" full of hypocrisy and deception.
Nothing can cover up the moves of the United States that hinders peaceful settlement of the situation and keeps instigating bloodshed and the United States can never escape from the responsibility for having plunged the Middle East into sanguinary massacre and extreme chaos.
